
Orchid Pusey
Orchid Pusey joined AWS in 2001 and serves as its Executive Director. She led a national training and technical assistance program for ten years, building movement capacity to address the unmet needs of marginalized survivors of violence. Orchid founded AWS’s Community Interpretation Training Institute (CITI) and Multi-Lingual Digital Storytelling Project, and trains on interpretation, cultural responsiveness and trauma informed practice, violence prevention in LGBTQ communities, community-based participatory research and evaluation, and organizational planning and development. She grew up living back and forth between rural Pennsylvania and Beijing. She holds a BA in Social Anthropology and an MA in Linguistics, and is a parent to dogs, rabbits and chickens.
